I am Rita Warnock, and quilted art is my passion. I take smashingly beautiful fabrics, cut them into very small pieces and rearrange those pieces to create wonderful new works of art. Ideas come from nature, people and architecture and my eyes are always open to new possibilities for a quilt. Some quilts are recollections of childhood memories; others I create from travel photos or other artists’ work, always with their permission. Sometimes I use a pattern as inspiration and make changes to create my unique style.
Quilts are for sale in my studio and can be viewed by appointment. Custom quilting services that I offer are:
- Landscaped wall art created from your photo
- Traditional quilts from your fabrics or mine
- Photo mosaic quilts from your picture
- T-shirts made into quilts
- Seasonal wall art designs
- Memoray quilts from your treasured pieces
- Finish incomplete quilts
- Long arm machine quilting for your quilt tops
My mission as an art quilter is to bring quilting to a higher art form so that we see art quilts decorating homes, offices, and retail centers, as well as hanging in art galleries.

He is best known for his two debut songs, "Payin' for My Sins" (1999) and "2 Days Short of a Week" (2001). He has often been compared to other revolutionary blues artists such as Lionel Ritchie, Howlin' Wolf, and Smokey Robinson. Grady Champion was born October 10, 1969. He grew up in Canton, Mississippi, in a religious household. When he was eight years old, he joined his church choir and realized his passion for music. He was the youngest of his father's 28 children and grew up working hard on the family farm. When he was 15, he and his family moved to Miami, Florida, but he only attended high school there for a year before moving back to Mississippi to graduate.
After graduation, Grady returned to Florida and attempted small jobs such as boxing, and DJ work for the radio. It was not long before he landed his performing career. In the earl '90s, he referred to himself as "MC Gold" and mostly rapped. However, he soo discovered that he had a natural talent for the blues, and he incorporated hiphop int blues music. Ridgeland Artist Mark Millet illustrates the spirit of the south through oils, acrylics and watercolors. Paintings give intensity and scope to scenes that move across, into and out of his living canvases.
Through his recounting of the vanishing scenes of the south, Mark has become known as a nostalgic artist.
His representative drawing and loose watercolor style are perfect techniques for securing the past and making time stand still.
Mark continually searches for that perfect scene to capture. While traveling the back roads of Mississippi, an old store that has already seen its better days or children walking on an old abandon railroad track stir his creativity and excitement.
Mark comes from a long line of artists. He started his artistic journey by winning a scholarship from Hinds Community College where he studied under the renowned artist Bob Dunaway. After school, Mark spent a year creating silk screen art and then landed a job with Mississippi Farm Co-op as an in-house art director for eight years. When the company was sold in 1992, Mark moved his own studio and gallery in Ridgeland.
Mark has won numerous regional art contests. His art is a component of private collections all over the country and even as far as Paris, France. His work is featured in many local restaurants, at local schools and in his Ridgeland studio.Mark has taught many art workshops at local schools as well as classes at his Ridgeland studio.
Today, Mark teaches three advanced high school art classes at Canton Academy and instructs classes Tuesday and Thursday nights in his Ridgeland studio.Millet Studio & Gallery

Robert and Merry Pickenpaugh, of Pickenpaugh Pottery, are the owners of the oldest business in the historic Downtown Madison area. For the last 41 years pottery has not only been their profession, but their spiritual journey together. Robert likens centering the material on the potter’s wheel to centering one’s life. A stillness must be sought and achieved in order to make pottery work well. He seeks to practice this same “stillness” in his life today. Robert is well known around the area for his beautiful pottery flowers that can be seen throughout the yards and landscapes of Madison. Merry’s sculpted Santa figures are one of the hot items around Christmas time. Pickenpaugh pottery has become a multi-generational business with Robert and Merry’s daughter, MerryCline, and her husband, Patrick, joining the business. They hope to continue to share the same spirit that their parents share with each individual who steps into their gallery. The art that is made at Pickenpaugh Pottery reflects the unique spirit of the people who make it. “Like this family, this pottery is one of a kind” says Merry. All of the clay and glazes are mixed at the shop. All of their work is hand made without the use of molds, and original. Pickenpaugh Pottery and Gallery is located at 2034 Main St. in downtown Madison. Pictures of some of their past work can be seen on their website at pickenpaughpottery.com. A list of pottery classes are posted on the website as well. Come find a one of a kind gift for that special someone or just stop in to say hi.

Noel Webb is part of a mother-daughter artist team, with Noel being the daughter, and Joyce Street being her mother. The two own and operate The Gallery on the square in Canton. Noel painted the banner for this website, which she calls “Neighborhood Cities of Madison County.” It depicts the recreational, diverse and all that is artfully colorful about Madison County.
