Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi Seeks New Members

RIDGELAND, Miss - The Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi is seeking new exhibiting members and will conduct a Standards Review on Saturday, August 11 to review applicants and determine eligibility. Membership in the Guild is open to anyone whose work reflects professional standards and a high degree of competence in creating fine handmade craft. Deadline for submitting an application is Friday, July 27 by 5 pm. The membership application and a description of what is to be submitted is available at www.craftsmensguildofms.org under craftsmen/member information. Members selected in August are eligible to participate in the Chimneyville Arts Festival held November 29-December 1 at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson. Other benefits of membership include the ability to exhibit and sell work at all sanctioned Guild events; to sell work at the Guild's retail galleries in Ridgeland, and the Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl; ability to demonstrate and sell at the Craft Center; referrals to collectors, buyers, designers and wholesalers; income opportunities through classes and field trips; promotion to the media and public; invitations to member meetings and social events; and informational exchange with other craftsmen. 

Since 1973, the mission of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi has been to preserve, promote, market, educate and encourage the highest standard of excellence in regional crafts. The Guild presents educational programs, craft events and exhibits, art education and markets fine craft. Standards reviews to consider new members are held March and August annually.
